Grow Your Own Cabbage from Seed!
Instructions:
1. Prepare Soil: Choose well-draining soil rich in organic matter. Loosen the soil to a depth of at least 6 inches and remove any rocks or debris.
2. Start Indoors (Optional): Cabbage seeds can be started indoors 4-6 weeks before the last frost date in your area. Use seed trays or pots filled with potting mix.
3. Plant Seeds: Sow cabbage seeds about OE inch deep in the soil or seed trays. Space them about 12-18 inches apart in rows or clusters.
4. Water: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water at the base of the plants to avoid wetting the leaves.
5. Provide Sunlight: Cabbage plants prefer full sun to partial shade. Choose a location that receives at least 6 hours of sunlight per day.
6. Thin Seedlings: Once the seedlings have grown to about 2 inches tall, thin them to ensure proper spacing, leaving the strongest plants in each cluster.
7. Fertilize: Apply a balanced fertilizer or compost around the base of the cabbage plants every 3-4 weeks to promote healthy growth.
