Set of 4 Japanese Red, Gold & Black Lacquered Miso Soup or Rice Bowls With Lids. Not positive but I believe they are plastic but might be wood, but they are lightweight, thin near the rim and thicken near the bottom with a pedestal base on both pieces. Beautiful floral design with 3 different flowers & leaves. No chips or cracks, some wear from age & use, some tiny dark spots, usage scratches, overall very good condition. Bowl measures 4 5/8" wide x 2 1/4" deep, lid is 4 1/4" wide x 1 3/8" deep, together 3 5/8" to top of lid pedestal.
