Nice antique original advertising booklet for Lane's Family Medicine "prepared entirely from roots and herbs which grow in the Rocky Mountains," by Orator F. Woodward. The Orator F. Woodward Medicine Co. was established in Leroy, New York in 1881, when he secured the rights to produce Kemp's Balsam. Woodward also bought the rights to the Jello formula, later sold to General Foods by his heirs. Woodward's obituary in the Buffalo Evening News, Jan. 22, 1906, mentions numerous businesses from which he made his fortune as director or stockholder, including the Genesee Pure Food Company, LeRoy Plow Company, LeRoy National Bank, LeRoy Water Commissioner, in addition to his proprietary medicine company.
