• EDITION: 1950. PLATE ENGRAVED AND PRINTED by BRAUN & CIE, MULHOUSE, FRANCE, under the direction of George Besson. This is plate number 5 of 24.

 

SUMMARY: This powerful Lithograph is after the above Georges Braque compostion from his prolific phase in the early 1940's. The piece is signed by Braque 'in the plate' (lower left hand side), and interestingly the year under his mark is 1943, although his original piece is officially listed as 1942, so it is clear that the work spanned both years. The title and year, plus other corroborative details are catalogued verso the support in lead. It is immediately ready for framing and will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity detailing the origins of the item.
