The Knob Assembly is an OEM replacement part for GE ranges and cooktops. This assembly includes the control knobs used for selecting cooking functions and temperatures.
Causes of a bad assembly tend to be normal wear with grime accumulation inhibiting smooth rotation. Thermal cycling may also cause internal component deterioration or loosening of connections.
Symptoms of a bad knob assembly include:
- Knobs worn, cracked, or detached preventing input selection
- Temperature/function dials sliding out of set positions
- Faded numbering/labels obscuring intended control inputs
- Components no longer securely attach knobs to posts
