The Michelia Alba prefers protected sun areas with lots of light but less than 6 hours of direct sunlight. Too much sunlight kills the flowers on this plant.  
 If the surface of the soil is still wet, the plant should not be watered.The flowering season lasts from March to November, providing a pleasant scent throughout the year. It can grow over 15 feet tall, but most varieties stay under 10 feet. The area it's planted in should be sheltered from the wind, as the Michelia Alba does not tolerate unprotected wind well.
