Beautiful hand painted porcelain tureen was made by Porcelaine de Paris in Limoges, France. The tureen has multicolored flowers and with rust/orange trim and ornate twist design handles. Translated, the backstamp reads (roughly) "It was in Strasbourg around 1750 that J Hannong painted on earthenware these magnificent bouquets which today adorn our ocher-shaped service made today on porcelain from Limoges, France." The base of the tureen has an opening of approx. 9" by 6 1/2", is 4 3/4" tall, and measures 13 3/4" across the handles. With the lid in place is approx. 7 3/4" tall. The tureen is in great condition, with no chips, cracks, or paint wear, and there are no obvious signs of use.
