BLUE RIDGE ROSE OF SHARON CELERY TRAY
This cute leaf shaped dish has an all-over floral pattern of pink and blue flowers with green leaves and pink vines. It has a raised cluster of grapes near the handle. It was made by Blue Ridge Southern Potteries some time in the 1930s and 40s. The pattern name is Rose of Sharon, and the piece is a celery tray. There are some inclusions under the glaze of the piece, along with some age crazing and a few dark spots. There are a couple of spots, one on the very tip of the handle, and one along the top rim of the handle, as well as along a small area near the front point of the leaf shape along the rim that are missing some glaze and have darkened as a result. The piece measures approximately 10 ¾ inches long and 6 OE inches white. It is approximately 1 oe inches deep. It is marked on the back, Blue Ridge China, Hand Painted Underglaze, Southern Pottery, Made in USA. This piece could be used to serve slices of carrot, celery, hard cheese cubes, or even small candies. It will display wonderfully with other vintage Blue Ridge Pottery from the same time period. When properly packaged it will ship at a 2 pound rate.
