DUST JACKET:  Wear & chipping to edges & corners, with creases, scratches, indentations, rub-wear & soiling - missing chunk at front left top edge - all corners show wear - 1" tear at rear left lower edge & 5/8" tear at rear right top edge, plus lesser tears across both front & rear covers - both spine edges show chipping & bumping - both flyleaves are untrimmed - rear of dust jacket shows inked musical tablature - dust jacket is covered in Mylar protector. -- BOOK:  Black ink on azure blue, threaded covers - rub-wear along edges & corners - both top & lower spine edges show bumping & rolling, with less at top spine edge - corner crimp with fading at front top right corner - NO splits-to-spine - penciled name/number at front left inside endpaper - penciled price at front right inside endpaper. -- OVERALL CONDITION: Dust jacket = Good Minus; Book = Very Good Minus


THIS IS VERY LIKELY A FIRST EDITION COPY, based upon the following internal information:

(1)  The inside front flyleaf lists both DEANNA DURBIN titles (but no other 1941 titles), plus other previously released Whitman titles.

(2)  The inside rear flyleaf lists both RED RYDER titles from 1941 (but no other 1941 titles), plus other previously released Whitman titles.

(3)  The titles listed on the rear of the dust jacket list only the two DEANNA DURBIN titles (but no other 1941 titles), plus other previously listed titles.

(4)  The design of the book cover is threaded cloth, rather than the pebbled cloth that Whitman began using after 1941.

(5)  There are no book titles listed after the conclusion of the book on page 220.
