The Knob Thermostat Assembly is an OEM part for GE gas ranges. It allows for control of oven baking temperatures through the regulation of pilot lights and burners.

Symptoms of a bad knob thermostat assembly include:  

• Erratic or inaccurate temperature readings
• Difficulty selecting or maintaining desired heat levels
• Unstable or inconsistent baking performance   
• Improper ignition or control of range burners

Causes of a malfunctioning knob thermostat include continuous exposure to cooking heat and normal wear over extended use. The internal components experience constant adjustment and fluctuations that can lead to loosening or degradation over time.
