Comedy double. Based on a real scenario at the 1988 Olympics, 'Cool Runnings' (1993) focuses on the trials and tribulations of the first ever Jamaican bob-sled team and their coach Irving 'Irv' Blitzer (John Candy). Derice Bannock (Leon Robinson) is due to qualify for Jamaica's track team but due to an accident his hopes are dashed. He finds out that a gold-medalist lives in Jamaica, former US resident and bob-sled champion Blitzer, and persuades him to coach a team for entry into the 1988 Olympics. However, the team Bannock puts together has never even sat in a bob-sled, let alone seen snow. In 'Jungle 2 Jungle' (1997), New York trader Michael Cromwell (Tim Allen) decides to marry fashion designer Charlotte - but he must first obtain a divorce from his wife Patricia. She has been living in the Amazon for the past 13 years, and when Michael travels over to finalise matters he is shocked to discover that he has a son, Mimi-Suki (Sam Huntington). Mimi-Suki is going through his rites of passage, and wants to return to New York with Michael so that he can claim the fire from the Statue of Liberty. Michael reluctantly agrees, but once in the urban jungle Mimi-Suki brings chaos to all those around him.
