Bollywood drama about a horseman who abducts a little girl and takes her to Lucknow where she is trained to become a courtesan and becomes famous as Umrao Jaan Ada (Rekha). Many years later, circumstances bring her back to her old home but as a feeling of deja vu begins to overwhelm her, she realises that she can never regain what she lost.
