In 'A Taste of Armageddon' the ship flies into a sector of space that is part of a war controlled by computers, and is declared a casualty of war. In 'This Side of Paradise' Spock is subjected to some giant spores that unleash his emotions. In 'The Devil in the Dark' the Enterprise crew investigate the murders of many miners on Janus IV, deaths that only started to occur on the discovery of some giant silicon spheres. In 'Errand of Mercy' the Enterprise is despatched to a strategically important area, but Kirk and Spock end up stranded on a planet where the Klingons take over. In 'The Alternative Factor' an uninhabited M-class planet disappears from its system for a short period of time - and when it reappears, there is a mysterious human on the surface. In 'The City on the Edge of Forever' McCoy leaps back in time and threatens to destroy the delicate time line.
