Robert Wise directs this World War II film starring Richard Widmark and Don Taylor. A group of American military meteorologists are deployed to Inner Mongolia to monitor the conditions for the Navy. Chief Petty Officer Sam McHale (Widmark) is forced to come to their rescue when their commanding officer is killed during a Japanese attack. As Sam leads the men on a gruelling trek across the Gobi Desert, they encounter a group of Mongolian tribesmen. Can they be trusted?
