Adapted from the novel by Alexandre Dumas, 'The Man in the Iron Mask' (1998) boasts an all star cast including Leonardo DiCaprio, Jermey Irons, John Malkovich, Gerard Depardieu and Gabriel Byrne. On her deathbed, Queen Anne (Anne Parillaud) confides to Musketeer Aramis (Jeremy Irons) that there is held prisoner in the Bastille a mysterious orphan boy in an iron mask. The Musketeers set out to find out the truth behind the tale, and discover a wicked plot by the evil King Louis XIV (Leonardo DiCaprio). 'Rob Roy' (1995) is an updated version of the 1952 classic period drama, set in the 18th century. The Scottish hero Rob Roy (Liam Neeson) borrows money from the powerful Marquess of Montrose (John Hurt) in order to provide for his MacGregor clan. However, Montrose's evil henchman Cunningham (Tim Roth) has other ideas and is determined to stop Roy getting his way. In the 1958 film 'The Vikings', half-brothers Einar (Kirk Douglas) and Eric (Tony Curtis) are mortal foes, battling it out for the throne of Northumbria and the love of Princess Morgana (Janet Leigh). Their father, King Ragnar (Ernest Borgnine), refuses to acknowledge Eric who then begins to mass forces against the King, eventually capturing him and threatening him with the wolf pit. However, Eric is soon betrayed by his allies and set adrift at the mercy of his brother in the North Sea. The film features all the Viking essentials: longships, raping, pillaging, hearty roars, giant crabs and scores of sword fights.
