Chris Colfer writes and stars in this teen comedy drama following a young man's attempt to get into college. The film looks back on the last stages of Carson Phillip (Colfer)'s life after he is struck by lightning. Not particularly popular in school, avid writer Carson tries to blackmail some of his peers to get them to participate in a literary magazine in the hope that it will help him gain acceptance to Northwestern University. As he does so, he ends up having an impact on those around him despite their apparent dislike of him. The cast also includes Rebel Wilson, Sarah Hyland, Allison Janney, Christina Hendricks and Dermot Mulroney.
