A Bob Hope double bill. 'Road to Bali' (1952) is the sixth entry of seven in the 'Road' movie series, and the only one made in Technicolor. Hope and Bing Crosby star as a music hall act who take jobs as deep-sea divers and then set sail for a crazy South Seas adventure, encountering cannibals, a giant squid, and the Princess McTavish (Dorothy Lamour) along the way. Jane Russell, Humphrey Bogart, Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis also turn up in cameo roles. Whilst in 'My Favorite Brunette' (1947) Ronnie Jackson (Hope) is a photographer of babies who aspires to the life of the detective working in the office next door. Following a case of mistaken identity he gets the chance for some real sleuthing, charged with finding the missing Baron Montay. Immediately out of his depth, the wise-cracking Ronnie tries to track down the Baron in a gloomy mansion with the Baroness (Dorothy Lamour) at his side, and soon the two are in all sorts of trouble.
