Documentary footage about the two left behind members of Britain's biggest indie pop act ever. When Morrissey disbanded the Smiths in 1987, things were always going to be rough for bassist Andy Rourke and drummer Mike Joyce. Morrissey's cantankerous and skinflint-y nature is legend and when the pair sued he and Marr for lost acclaim (and pounds) from the Smiths' legacy in 1996 they came away with significantly less than predicted. Here, Rourke and Joyce speak frankly and candidly about life under the tyrannical Mozzer. The film follows the band's rise from the earliest days in Manchester and ending up touring the US to huge sellout crowds, doing practically every music TV show going. It also touches upon more personal matters like the heroin addiction that periodically saw Rourke on the bench even when the band was at its height and Joyce's wooing his estranged wife back by saying he was going to be on Top of the Pops. In interview with the pair and in comment from industry stalwarts like Mark E. Smith, Peter Hook, Pete Shelley and Nick Hodgson, the story of the Smiths' great legacy is laid bare. Please note this DVD is region 2 and will only work in the following regions Japan, Europe, South Africa, the Middle East (including Egypt) and Greenland, Unless you have a multi-regional DVD Player.
