Glowing crimson-red flowers blooming from spring to early summer above a mat of evergreen leaves.  Perfect for front of border edging or rock gardens.  8” tall x 12” spread.  Full sun.  Perennial in USDA Hardiness Zones 3-9.  When blooms fade, shear off the top 1/3rd of the plant for repeat blooms later in summer.  (Dianthus Leuchtfunk/deltoides)

Seed sowing instructions: Sow seed indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost date on the surface of a moistened, good seed-starting mix. Cover seed lightly with fine grit or seed-starting mix, provide light and keep moist, in cool temperatures, 65-70 degrees F.  They can then be transplanted out when large enough to handle and temperatures stay above freezing.
