This is the beautiful opaque color that Anchor Hocking called Ivory. It was produced as an Occasional or Gift item. It's shown in the 1956 Anchor Hocking catalog, as item W100-G/52 10" Footed Cake Plate. The top of the plate has 4 rays dividing it in even sections. Each ray ends in an arrow head. Between the rays are short decorative rays with bubble shapes and points on either end. The gold trim is an all-over design on the outer 1 1/2 inches of the plate, which is multiple clusters of 3 dots in a triangular arrangement. A fancy Fleur de Lis border separates the dot design from the plain, undecorated portion of the cake plate.

Note: just because Anchor Hocking made some Fire-King glass in this color does not mean that all of their Ivory glass is Fire-King -- It needs to be marked "Fire-King" and this is not. I would wash it gently by hand, and avoid sudden temperature changes, because in general, opaque glass seems to be a little more fragile than regular glass.

The cake stand has no chips or cracks, and no scratches or wear to the glass. But the gold is worn in some places, while in other places it looks brand new. It is 10 1/4 inches wide, 2 1/2 inches tall and weighs 2 pounds 4.3 ounces.
