Application of Black Mustard Seed

For cold conditions, stabbing, bronchitis, pneumonia, rheumatism, lumbago, arthritic pains, etc. It is less often used internally (mixed with honey) for bronchitis, to stimulate bile secretion, etc.
How to use Black mustard flour

Lapi: Crushed mustard seeds mixed with flour in a ratio of 1:1 (for children, flour should be 2-3 times more than seeds). A thick slurry is made with warm water and a little vinegar and applied as a poultice to the sore spot for 10-20 minutes (3-6 minutes for children).

Culinary purpose: Black mustard seed can be used in a raw pickle in the so-called wild fermentation, without preservatives. In our Bulgarian tradition, when the pickle had reached the desired taste, the hosts stopped the fermentation by the so-called crossing with mustard seed or horseradish root. For 10 liters of pickle, put 100 grams of mustard seed, wrapped in cheesecloth or a clean cotton bag.
