Ping LADIES G2 15.5* Driver, G5 24* 9 Hybrid, Ladies Flex Graphite

The PING G2 driver has maxed out the head size and COR (energy transfer) allowed by the USGA, creating a long, forgiving driver that golfers of all skill levels have loved since its introduction. Weight placed in the rear and around the perimeter of the clubhead results in great forgiveness, as well as trajectory control. Without offset, the club also provides a measure of side-to-side shot shaping control. This is the original G Series driver, PING’s extremely popular game-improvement line that has since seen more iterations, but the technology behind the G2 stands the test of time.

Ping have not been renowned for their drivers, unless you talk to die-hard Ping users, but we think the Ping G2 driver will change that.

We tried the 8.5 degree version with a stiff NV shaft and it looks great, sounds great and goes great. The more 'traditional' head and hosel shape than the TiSi give it a great presence at address and with that 460cc head, a lot of confidence too.

The cosmetics of the head will probably divide opinion, but overall they look very good, despite many interpretations of the line-up graphic on the top of the head.

The green NV shaft (green with envy - get it?) is quite long at 45 inches, but performs excellently if you like a stiffer shaft and the grip was very good and can be custom fitted to suit your size of hand by a Ping retailer.

Hitting the club was a joyous experience with good trajectory and excellent distance. The sound at impact got everyone's attention without being tinny or outrageously noisy for this size of head.

The head cover looked funky and was very easy to get on and off - a rarity among these types of clubs. Ping are onto a winner here with a club that is excellent value for money.


PING HISTORY
Engineer and inventor Karsten Solheim got his start as an engineer working for GE in Ithaca, New York. His passion for the game set him on a journey to create a better putter. At the time he thought he was simply building it for his own personal use, but in 1959, Karsten’s ongoing garage experiments yielded an innovative putter he called 1A design. This putter had very distinctive design qualities, among them, a unique tone at impact, a sound that would echo throughout the game for generations to come…“Ping.” The Anser putter began a long and proud history of truly innovative equipment design throughout Ping’s entire product line (ultimately resulting in over 400 patents) that has set Ping at the top of the list of golf design and manufacturing companies. The company is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona. Karsten Solheim has passed away and his son John has taken the helm.

The G2 driver has 99% of ALL the so-called latest innovations of the current model drivers, I bought my left handed, 11.5 degree G2 off for about $90 recently, and it hits as well or better than the latest $500 fancy gizmo driver on the market today. So look for the technology, but buy it in an older model club and save a ton of money. That's smart golf."

Vintage clubs in very good condition.
The Ping G2 Driver has Ping TFC 100D Ladies Flex Graphite Shaft. 
The Ping G5 Hybrid has Ping ULT 50F Ladies Flex Graphite Shaft.
Clubs show minimal scratches and wear on the sole and/or scratches/ball marks/chips to the face from play, but overall great shape including the paint which may show just minor wear. 
Grooves are in good shape showing light actual play wear.

Driver has New KNLY Tour Wrap style grip, Hybrid has Golf Pride Tour Wrap grip, both are in playable condition, are soft and playable.
