An incredibly suitable name for such a hot plant! This fantastic quilled mum has spoon shaped petals that are golden yellow with fire red tips just like a matchstick. The flowers are nice and full, topping the green foliage from early to mid-fall. In our trials, the plants formed nicely compact, upright clumps that did not require staking. This would be a fantastic plant to use in containers—looks like fireworks in a pot! Chrysanthemums are easy-to-grow plants for the perennial border or containers. They combine well with other fall blooming perennials such as Aster 'Purple Dome' and Sedum 'Red Cauli'. This selection tolerates a range of environmental conditions including dry soil. Its habit is tight and mounding.
