DREAD THE SUNSET

By Marjorie Carleton.

New York: William Morrow & Company, 1962.

First edition, first printing.

1962 date printed to the title page, $3.75 to the jacket's flap.

Carleton garnered an Edgar Award nomination for
NIGHT OF THE GOOD CHILDREN, and her CRY WOLF was adapted to the 1947 Noir film starring Barbara Stanwyck and Errol Flynn.

A young violinist with a minor finger injury visits a doctor in an old age home for the rich, and soon finds herself framed for murder.

Quite a SCARCE title, especially in this original first edition.

Former owner's address label to the front end-paper, end-papers lightly foxed, mild age-toning to the cover borders as usual, upper front corner tip bumped, page edges foxed, else very good in blue linen over green boards with white titles to the spine; in a very good dust jacket with a surface rub-wear line to the rear spine fold and to the front flap fold, a very small hole and a rubbed snag to the spine panel, nicks and rubs to the upper and lower spine edges and corner tips, a half-inch chip to the upper corner of the rear panel; original printed $3.75 price still intact to the front inner flap.
