Vintage Majolica Style 15.5" Flower-Bearer Mermaid Centerpiece Jardineire Minton Reproduction
Measures approx. 15.5" L x 7.5" W x 10.5" H
Weighs a hefty 8 lbs. 10 oz. prior to packaging!
It is fashioned as an upturned scallop shell supported on the backs of a pair of mermaids. It is a reproduction of the famous 19th Century piece "Flower Bearer" designed by Albert Carrier Belleuse for Minton circa 1865.
As with many of these reproduction pieces, the workmanship is a bit crude, but other than that it is in VERY GOOD CONDITION. It has a single small surface glaze/paint flake chip along the bottom edge (see last photo). There are no other nicks, chips, cracks, flea bites, or repairs. The majolica production style has a crackle glazed aged appearance, giving it an antique vibe, though it isn't that old.
This reproduction piece will date back to the early to mid-1990s.and the finish is crackle-glaze.
This vintage centerpiece is a beautiful addition to any room.
This centerpiece is a great conversation piece and a unique addition to your decor, or collection.
