Vintage Wooden box stamped Tyrrells Hygienic Inst. NY USA Joy, Beauty, Life, Tyrrells J.B.L. Cascade - Pat. June 1903-Apr. 1911 - Oct. 1911 This box is a blond color. It measures 10" long and 5 1/2" wide. When you open the latch, the inside has an advertisement glued to the bottom. Tyrell's "J.B. L. Cascade". The only appliance specially made for "flushing the colon". Only the box is available, does not include the appliance for flushing the colon.  "Endorsed by eminent physician, and used in the best Sanitariums and hospitals." Dr. Charles A. Tyrrell, M.D. believed that daily enemas could cure and prevent just about any disease or ailment. His Book, "The Royal Road to Health" fully explained the benefits and proper method. Dr. Tyrrell was the President of Tyrrell's Hygenic Institure, but he was widely criticized for his quackery at the time. The instruction paper on the bottom also is in  good condition. Hinges are a bit loose, box is assebled with "box/flat dovetail" joinery. This box is in good condition and it's an interesting piece of history.  Examine the pictures closely as they represent the best condition of the product.  If the ad is visible then the box is available.
