TOCO 500mg Vitamin E, also known as “tocopherol”, is an essential soluble and protective vitamin for fatty substances.
Several forms of Vitamin E exist in nature, but alpha-tocopherol is the most active biologically and it is a major antioxidant for the body. However, all tocopherols (beta, delta and gamma) have specific biological activities and functions.
Indication:
The Vitamin E of TOCO 500mg prevents the oxidation of lipids and thus preserves Vitamin A (soluble in fats), in reserve in the body, preventing oxidation with harmful effects for biological processes. The effectiveness of vitamin E is due to the quality of “D-alpha-tocopherol”, a natural, biologically active form of vitamin E. The term DL-alpha-tocopherol refers to a synthetic form of Vitamin E.
Pharmacokinetic properties:
Intestinal absorption of the order of 50% at therapeutic doses. Vitamin E enters the bloodstream through the lymphatic system. In the blood, it is found almost completely linked to beta-lipoproteins.
Vitamin E is distributed in all tissues; it hardly crosses the placental barrier (1/5).
Metabolites of quinone structure (very similar to coenzyme Q) have been found in tissues. 70% of the dose is eliminated by the hepatic route, the rest being transformed mainly into glycuronide and excreted via the renal route.
Directions for use and dosage:
One capsule daily in the morning at breakfast.
Swallow the capsule as is, with the contents of a glass of water.
