Mexican Sunflower is an annual sunflower variety native to North and Central America.
Fast growing plant reaches 3 to 8 feet in height and produces dozens of fiery red to orange, daisy-like blooms throughout the summer and into fall.
The showy flowers attract bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects. Hummingbirds are also attracted to the nectar-rich blooms.
An excellent selection for beginner gardeners, as this variety grows quickly and requires little attention after it's established.
Direct sow outdoors in late spring once the soil has warmed to 70 degrees F or higher by lightly pressing the seeds into the surface of the soil. Keep soil moist, and seeds should germinate within 7 to 14 days.
