Pre-viewed for quality and had a quick light line that was barely visible on first B&W trailer for 'Man Who Wasn't There'. Lines and blue screen at 19 minutes in and then a couple of rolling lines at 24 1/2 and 25 1/2 minutes.
Goes blue screen at 1 hour 22 minutes 50 seconds and then finally there are a few rolling lines over the end credits. Box has been cut and mounted in a white, hard clamshell display case. The cassette looks nice and clean. Despite the defects, the movie is quite watchable and is therefore a freebie with the purchase of any other movie.
SESSION 9 relocates its shocks to the American workplace, where men refine their fears to provide for their families. Hired to strip asbestos from the vast but derelict Danvers State Mental Hospital, cash-strapped contractor Gordon is promised a life-saving bonus if he can complete the job in a week. Rushing to finish by Columbus Day, Gordon's increasingly erratic behavior begins to trouble his crew, who are further unnerved by having to "shuck fiber" in a rotting asylum shutdown fifteen years earlier due to a Satanic ritual abuse scandal.
When one of the team goes missing on the second day (Josh Lucas, 'Stealth'), Gordon and partner Phil (David Caruso) begin to suspect one another of sabotaging the job. A situation agravated by the discovery of found audio footage, a recording of psychiatric sessions with a woman and her personality disorder. The creepy voices of her then changing to "Princess", "Billy" and finally "Simon" (a demonic personality) tells the story of a woman who butchered her entire family on a Christmas night long ago.
As the days wear on, it becomes progressively less likely that the crew will finish on time or leave Danvers State Hospital alive.
