First book by the Broadway, film and television veteran Irish actor who played many roles in mysteries as an inspector, including several times as Inspector Cocoran. This suspenseful mystery is set in Dublin, Ireland and is peopled with a colorful cast, including a compulsive killer and a tragic hero name Joe Cocoran. Former owner's bookplate to the inside front cover, else very nearly fine, square and firm in black linen with white and blue embossed titles to the spine, sewn binding, brick-auburn end-papers; in a near fine dust jacket with very short creased tears to the upper and lower spine edges; original printed $3.75 price still intact to the front inner flap.
