The Whirlpool refrigerator air damper control assembly is an OEM replacement part responsible for regulating the flow of cold air from the freezer compartment to the refrigerator compartment. It consists of a damper door and control mechanism that opens or closes to adjust the amount of cold air entering the refrigerator.

The Whirlpool control can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.
