Echo: Atomic Dreams is the second trade paperback which continues Terry Moores exciting story of Julie Martin and the strange metal substance that has grafted itself to her skin...a metal which has mysterious powers that seem to manifest based on her emotions.

In Echo: Atomic Dreams, the story picks up with Julie Martin and friend Dillon on the run from the mysterious organization known as HeNRI. Dillons girlfriend created the strange metal and was apparently destroyed while testing it for HeNRI. Also on their trail is special investigator working for HeNRI, Ivy Raven. Over the course of Ivy's investigation of and search for Julie, she starts to uncover bits and pieces of Julies life as well as coming to some realizations about the ambiguous morals of her employers.

Also in this volume which comprises issues 6 through 10 of Echo, Julie has a confrontation with the mysterious, homicidal drifter who also has some of the metal on his skin. Over the course of the story...Julie also discovers that she seems to have some sort of connection to the metals creator, the apparently deceased Annie Trotter.

Terry Moore continues the fast paced action as well as delving even deeper into the characters lives. My enjoyment of these characters and this story grows more and more with each passing issue. The black and white art is still very attractive and detailed and competent. Terry Moore draws realistic looking people and writes realistic characters and it is a very refreshing change from the norm in comics these days. Fun and fast paced and thrilling. I highly recommend this trade of the series. The series is currently on issue 15. Since the trades are compiling 5 issues at a time, this means that the third trade should be out soon. I can't wait to read more of this story and hope that we'll eventually see an omnibus of the series.
