The Mitchell Vance Company was one of the early pioneers in electric lighting, exhibiting at the Centennial Exposition is 1876. They were known for quality, detailed lighting and closed shop in 1933. This chippy cast iron sconce signed by the Mitchell Vance Company is original from a 1920s home in the historical district of Greenville, South Carolina. As you can see the sconce has been painted numerous times with green and yellow beneath white. The sconce was carefully brushed to remove any loose paint—the sconce as it won't flake.

The wiring is new as is the candelabra socket. The socket cover is also new but antiqued to compliment the aged look of the sconce.
