This is a collection of Star Wars articles published in Time over the years. There are some weird moments sparked by the different times when the articles were written (it's not made clear, so some come from before Force Awakens and some after Rogue One, so what the writer knows versus what the reader does can be hilariously different). It's interesting to read the reviews of all the movies, seeing not only how the movies have changed in their popular reckonings, but also how reviews themselves changed over the decades. For fans of Star Wars it does give a decent perspective on the Star Wars phenomenon and its filmic pieces.  My favorite parts were reading the old TIME reviews of the movies because the way people talk about the films has changed so immensely. A good read for anyone who likes Star Wars or behind-the-scene information.

I've been an enormous Star Wars fan for over twenty years now, and have greatly enjoyed following the journey the saga has taken over the years -- from blockbuster film to cult following to prequel revival to Disney's renaissance. It's been a thrilling ride... and this special edition of TIME magazine commemorating the series' 40th anniversary perfectly encapsulates how this film has impacted pop culture. It may not be the definitive resource for all things Star Wars, but it makes for a great compilation of history, trivia, photos, TIME's reviews of the films, and a look ahead at what we can expect from the saga in the years to come.

A fantastic gift for a Star Wars aficionado, or just a great read for a casual fan or anyone curious as to how these films could have become the sci-fi juggernaut they've morphed into today.
