Mayhem in the Big Easy! When Cassie & Vlad - hunters of slashers - track a vicious murderer to New Orleans, the Heart of Damballah is used to cause chaos with a crazy mind switch with... Chucky?! Following the events of Seed of Chucky, everyone's favorite murderous doll is back, and looking for blood!
Cassie and Vlad take on Chucky in a story taking place after the film Seed of Chucky. Serves as a sequel to "Girls Gone Dead". Laura Lochs uses an ancient relic to body swap out of her currently burnt to a crisp remains and into the body of none other than Vlad. It then falls upon Cassie, Vlad (Now in Laura Loch's body) and Chucky to end the now near unstoppable Loch's evil plans before she can kill several of Cassie's close friends, all having been captured and used in Laura's sick game of revenge. Cassie must also deal with the unlikely and deadly partnership with Chucky, whom she knows all too well can turn and try to kill her at any given moment.
The possibility of Hack/Slash being made into a live-action film by Rogue was discussed by director Todd Lincoln, writer Martin Schenk, series creator Tim Seeley, and others at the 2006 San Diego Comic Convention, to be released in 2008. In 2009, Todd Lincoln was replaced by Fredrik Bond as director, with Justin Marks writing the screenplay. Stephen Susco was later announced as a co-writer. In 2012, Marcus Nispel, who directed Conan the Barbarian remake, was revealed to have agreed to helm the film for Relativity and Rogue. In October 2015, Relativity Television announced that the series would instead be adapted into a television series and would be written by Skip Woods, who would serve as executive producer alongside Adrian Askarieh, who first optioned it in 2005. As of 2018, there have been no updates on the prospective series, causing outlets such as [/Film] to assume that the series is in development hell.
Horror Comic ‘Hack/Slash’ Heading to TV With ‘Hitman’ Writer (Exclusive)
The adaptation of the cult comic had spent years in development as a movie but is now set up at Relativity Television.
Hack/Slash, the long-in-the works adaptation of the cult horror comic, has taken a twisty turn: It is now being developed as a television series.
The project is set up at Relativity Television, which has been spun off from Relativity Media with a new ownership umbrella that includes Anchorage Capital, Falcon Investments and Luxor Capital. Tom Forman remains the CEO.
Skip Woods, the action-loving scribe whose credits range from Swordfish to A Good Day to Die Hard to the Hitman movies, is writing the script.
Woods will also exec produce with Adrian Askarieh, who first optioned the comic back in 2005, and Ray Ricord.
Daniel Alter and Geoffrey Yim are co-exec producers.
Created by Tim Seeley and Stefano Caselli, Hack/Slash centers on Cassie Hack, a woman who symbolizes the cliche of the lone girl who survives at the end of every horror movie. However, the emotionally damaged girl not only survived but has become a killer of killers. Along with a burly protector named Vlad, Hack travels across the country hunting slashers in the vein of Halloween‘s Michael Myers, Friday the 13th‘s Jason Voorhees and A Nightmare on Elm Street‘s Freddy Krueger.
When it was set up as a feature, it had directors such as Marcus Nispel, Fredrik Bond and Todd Lincoln attached, with Justin Marks and Stephen Susco among the writers.
The producers are now out to directors with the goal to make it a dark and gritty show in The Walking Dead mold.
Chucky made his return to television on the October 12, 2021 premiere of Chucky, the sequel to Cult of Chucky. In this TV series, Chucky encounters 14-year old middle school student Jake Wheeler at a yard sale with his intentions to use him for his personal art projects. A younger version of Chucky as a human also appeared in flashback scenes which were portrayed by David Kohlsmith and Tyler Barish. In flashbacks of the 1980s he's played by Fiona Dourif (who also appears in the present time as Nica Pierce) dubbed by Brad Dourif..
