Robin and Chicks
is the name of the Bing & Grondahl (B&G) 1970 Mother's Day Plate, featuring a Mother Robin feeding her hungry Chicks. This is the 2nd plate in the Bing & Grondahl Mother’s Day plate series. Bing & Grondahl introduced the FIRST Mother’s Day plate in 1969, and it is still the most popular and longest running Mother’s Day series of all time! The scene is embossed on Danish porcelain and hand painted in traditional Copenhagen blue under the glaze. Diameter just under 6 inches (15 cm). Pierced foot for hanging wire. Appropriately marked on the back, including the three tower trademark of Bing & Grondahl. Design by Allan Therkelsen.
