Lorrie Kabala specialized in Victorian and Edwardian reproductions. Her use of lace reflects her love affair with these eras.
In 2004 the estate of Johnny and June Carter Cash was offered for sale by Sotheby’s. There were two gowns and one ensemble by Lorrie Kabala included. They had been worn by June on stage. The corset and skirt in this listing would also serve a theatrical purpose.
This ensemble would also be great for a steampunk event, a Goth gathering, a glamorous witch for Halloween!
Both the corset and skirt feature many varieties of lace. The corset is embellished with black beaded fringe across the top and a black beaded applique in the center. The corset is boned.
