Description: This is a beautiful large cylindrical mug with an applied handle. The mug which is dated 1972 is from the Annual Mugs series issued in the period 1967-2014 by the Royal Copenhagen pottery of Denmark. This pottery mug has a flat round base with a central button made of Sterling Silver. The button, which would benefit from a good polish, is marked "925 S DENMARK" in two lines and has the letters "AM" with a crown above them all within a triangle with curved sides (mark of Anton Michelsen of Copenhagen). The modernistic design on the mug shows blue and black circles having wide border on a white background throughout the exterior of the mug. The exterior also has a wide blue band at the top and at the bottom. The interior is white in color with a blue colored band at the top. The edge of the rim is white. A very modernistic design! The date 1972 is on the side ?near the bottom withing interlocking circles (see the first photo).
