THIS WEEK: we are glad to introduce two new contributors. Anthony Raeburn is a young Englishman who represents various British magazines in Central Europe and is at present residing in Vienna. We also greet Professor Wenzl-Traunfels. Our anniversary selection, the work of the late Herbert F. Peyser, first appeared in OPERA NEWS on January 7, 1952.

Ramon Vinav, whose success as Otello in London is described by Frank Granville Barker, was asked to extend his contract at Covent Garden and thus was delayed in his first Metropolitan appearance on Opera News on the Air.
