Pre-viewed for quality and had a blurb during the first autopsy sequence in the begining. Then a few lines for a second or two at the initial island campsite sequence, and finally more lines and jumps after 1st guide is cannabalized. Plays fine otherwise. Not perfect but very watchable.
Cassette is nice and clean with the spine label still intact assuring you of first generation quality. Box has been cut and mounted a little crooked in a white, hard plastic clamshell keepcase. It has a 'horror' sticker on the top left spine.
In New York City, a hospital worker is caught devouring corpses in the morgue. Morgue assistant and anthropology expert Lori discovers, by way of a found footage slide show presentation, that he was from the Malaku Islands where Lori grew up. Dr. Peter Chandler investigates, and he and Lori discover that similar corpse mutilations have occured in other city hospitals, where immigrants from this region are working.
Peter leads an expedition to the islands to investigate where he meets a Doctor Obrero who takes care of the local natives. Obrero assigns local boatsman Molotto and three guides to take them to the island of Keto. Peter and his assistant George, his girlfriend journalist Susi, and Lori make up the rest of the crew. On the way, engine trouble forces the party to land on another island.
Soon, they are attacked by a tribe of bloodthirsty cannibals. To make matters worse, the island is also littered with zombies. Lori and Chandler decide they must find out where the zombies are coming from. Lori is captured by the cannibals and is stripped to full frontal nudity where she is subjected to an oily ritual in which she is now made their queen. Alas, what we find out is going on is that a crazy doctor is trying to turn the local tribe members into a 'perfect' race with the zombies resulting from these aborted experiments!
A cult favorite among Italian cannibal/zombie enthusiast and you can count me in on that as well.
