In the early 1950s, the company moved from Sycamore and 14th St. in Wyandotte to Ohio, hoping to cut costs with cheaper labor and proximity to Ohio's steel mills. However, the company went bankrupt in 1956, and sold part of its product line, including the former hafner trains, to competitor Louis Marx and Company. The remaining company tried to make a comeback in 1957, but was unsuccessful.
