Artisan Handmade Wooden Alaskan 3-Leg Desk Easel with Photographic Images

These wooden easel's are handmade and have a center folding leg for displaying on your desk, mantle or anywhere you have a flat surface...enjoy the Last Frontier right in your living room. The easel dimensions are approx. : 6-1/2 inch height x 6-1/8 inch width and have six unique photographic images of the area. The photo's are:

(1) Chena River Float Plane Base : Located within the city of Fairbanks. Private planes are the primary means of reaching Alaska's wilderness areas. Since the cities are often vast distances apart, flying cuts travel time to a minimum. Alaska has more private planes, many equipped with skis for winter or floats for summer, than any other state in the Union.

(2) Trans-Alaska Pipeline : Snaking northward under a bleak winter sun, the oil pipeline stands a monument to man's ingenuity. The line rides atop temperature-controlled support beams. Crossmembers allow the pipe to shift as the temperature drops or should quakes strike while the upright monitors trigger ground-level freezers keeping the permafrost solidly frozen below.

(3) Iditarod Dog Team : Joyous dogs mush along the trail early in the grueling 1100-plus mile Anchorage to Nome race. The Iditarod, as it is called, is run annually in celebration of the successful 1925 diphtheria serum race to save the villagers of Nome. The race has become a world classic run by upwards of 75 dog teams and their handlers each year.

(4) Totem, Interior Alaska : This totem greeted visitors arriving via the Alaskan-Canadian Highway (Alcan) at the first major junction inside Alaska, the town of Tok. The small motel, in front of which it stood, was a welcome sight after the long stretch from Beaver Creek, Canada.

(5) Hanging Flower Pots : The ubiquitous hanging pots brighten most city streets, parks and homes during Alaska's long summer days. Along byways and pathways a tapestry of wild floral colors, often running in miles-long swathes, pattern the warp of Alaska's green forests and rocky escarpments.

(6) Denali National Park : Denali, The Great One in Alaska's native tongue, stands with her sister, Mount Foracker, mysterious, regal and unspoiled by those who would assail her ramparts. Mt. McKinley, as she is identified on world maps, is the tallest mountain in North America. Her great height permits Denali to create her own weather and she very often peeps above clouds of her own making.
