The HP StorageWorks Modular Smart Array 50 (MSA50) Storage Enclosure is a disk drive enclosure that provides additional storage capacity for HP ProLiant and Integrity servers. It supports Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) or Serial ATA (SATA) drives and can be cascaded in a 1+1 configuration for a total of 20 SFF drives in a 2U configuration.

The documentation CD that comes with the MSA50 includes user guides for the HP Array Configuration Utility (ACU) and the Option ROM Configuration for Arrays (ORCA) utility. These guides provide instructions for configuring and managing the storage enclosure, including creating logical drives, assigning RAID levels, and setting up online spares.
