Presenting an antique Royal Copenhagen memorial plate, crafted to commemorate the wedding of Prince Christian (later King Christian X) of Denmark and Princess Alexandrine of Mecklenburg. Designed by Arnold Krog, this piece features molded blue underglaze decoration on a white porcelain body. The plate is uniquely shaped with three scalloped edges and showcases a face-to-face double "CA" monograms with a crown and year 1898 atop.
This charming antique carries the Royal Copenhagen green encircled crown mark, the three wavy lines, along with the painter’s numerals 58. This pattern was issued in 1898, with production ceasing after 2500 copies were made.
In very nice condition, it exhibits minor surface scratches and glaze imperfections, as shown in the last four photos.
