Hellen Fishing Boat Brass Gold Plated Model.

We found one other model exactly like this and they describe it as gold plating over brass. Unknown maker but amazing craftsmanship and detail. Model is on a wood base that is 6 inches wide and 2.25 inches deep. The boat itself is 8 inches wide and stands 10 inches tall including wood base. A plaque is on one side of the wood base inscribed HELLEN.

Hellen is an English Varkalas Fishing boat that was used in the late 1800s and is still in use today although not as widely.

From what we gather this boat is handmade of gold plated brass and is possibly one of the more interesting finds we have come across recently.

Perfect for an office or as a centerpiece on a shelf with other maritime collectibles. No name of maker but far nicer than your garden variety model ship.
