There was a top handle knob that was lost , i purchased it from an Antique tool dealer who thought this to be 18th Century, you wont find one like it listed or sold, this one pre-dates the early 1800's models

The Part in middle you hold with hand is a 2 piece construction with what looks like straw around it to keep the 2 parts together and as you pull up or down the spiral on the wood makes the metal tip drill

It is working great, you can always do a search and make a wood Handle top for putting pressure on, this is extremely Rare and it will be hard to find another one anywhere close because these were all Folk lure Hand made items, so no 2 were the same
