Disney Trading Pins
5880 Milestone Set #2 - Disneyland Park Sign
Last in a series of 10 marking milestones in Walt Disney's career. This one celebrates DL and has a pink and white silkscreen image of Sleeping Beauty's Castle against a gold Starburst shape. Back of box reads: For years, Walt Disney had nurtured the idea of building a "magical little park" across the street from his studio. As most of his plans did, the concept grew with time until 160 acres of orange groves in Anaheim, California were purchased in 1953. Rejecting traditional amusement park cliches, the five cardinal realms of his theme park were environments rather than "fun zones." No detail was too small for Walt's personal attention, and since its opening day on July 17, 1955, Disneyland has remained the crown jewel of the now global Disney recreation kingdoms.
