Wilt Chamberlain Signed Autographed 1961 First Day Cover 3.5 x 6.5 Inches Honoring Dr. James Naismith, Founder of Basketball, JSA COA HOF. Included is a COA from JSA. Certification Number: YY43785. The First Day Cover is stamped November 6, 1961 from Springfield, Mass. Mr. Chamberlain played for the University of Kansas from 1956 - 1958, for the Harlem Globetrotters, and for the Los Angeles Lakers from 1968 - 1973. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1978 and the Pro Basketball Hall of Fame in 1979. Dr. Naismith is best known as the inventor of basketball. He wrote the original basketball rule book in 1891 and founded the University of Kansas basketball program in 1989. The corners are slightly rounded and a few bends within the FDC due to handling and age. Very good condition for the age. Smoke free and pet free environment. This would be a unique and great addition to any collection!
