Early ford lug/ monkey wrench that came in the vehicle or tractor tool kit. Has the square tip on the end of the handle for the oil pan plug on early ford vehicles as well their tractors.
There are no foundry marks or manufactures mark other than an “E” on the head/hook jaw – those marked “M” were from 1920’s so this one appears to be earlier vintage. The handle has no foundry identification so again appears to be very early days Ford.
On the opposite side of the head/hook jaw is the “Ford” logo – typically most you see have the logo was just below the heel jaw.
The wrench is 9 ¼ inches long, the Jaw opens to 2 ¼ inches with a depth of 1 ¼ inches. There is no rounding of the jaws – shows use but not misuse. The jaw nut still moves the heel jaw up and down smoothly .
Vintage is still useable for the purposes it was made. The wrench shows scuffing and markings typical for it’s age and use.
