RORSTRAND 1906 Commemorative Plate

NORRKOPING EXHIBITION

Norrkoping is a small city in the Province of East Gothland, Sweden located about 160 km (~100 miles) southwest of the national capital Stockholm.  The Norrkoping Exhibition of Art and Industry was held between June 1 – September 15, 1906. Over 1000 paintings and sculptures were on display and over 1000 exhibitors had stalls in the Industrial and Mechanical Buildings.  A new hotel, restaurant and tram line were built in Norrkoping to accommodate the 350,000 visitors to the Exhibition.

This Rorstrand porcelain plate is approximately 7.75 inches across (about 20 cm).  Pierced foot for hanging wire. Appropriately marked on the back, including the three crown trademark for Rorstrand. An extremely rare plate.  I was unable to find any reference to this plate on the Internet, including Scandinavian websites specializing in porcelain like this.  If anyer can provide additional information or citations, it would be much appreciated!

EXCELLENT CONDITION (no chips, cracks, or repairs) and FIRST QUALITY (no scratch through the trademark).  A few very small stray marks on the plate were part of the original manufacturing process, which was less refined in 1906 than it is today.
